Oxylabs Proxy vs Webshare Proxy: Which Provider Is Better?
Webshare is the better low-cost self-service proxy provider; Oxylabs is the stronger enterprise web-data platform. Webshare’s rotating residential service starts at $3.50 for 1GB monthly, compared with Oxylabs’ $30 minimum for 5GB at $6/GB. Webshare also undercuts Oxylabs on directly comparable shared datacenter and shared ISP tiers.
Oxylabs justifies its premium with a much larger advertised residential pool, finer global targeting, mobile proxies, HTTP/3 and IPv6 options, 24/7 support, and a path from raw proxies to Web Unblocker, Web Scraper API, and Headless Browser. This Oxylabs Proxy vs Webshare Proxy comparison separates each product and billing unit so cheap shared IPs are never confused with premium residential traffic or managed extraction.
Oxylabs or Webshare: Who Wins?
Webshare wins pricing and self-service accessibility. Oxylabs wins capability, enterprise support, targeting depth, protocols, mobile coverage, and managed collection. Choose Webshare for straightforward residential rotation, endpoint controls, cheap shared/static proxies, a permanent free datacenter tier, and predictable monthly projects. Choose Oxylabs when difficult targets, precise global filters, mobile identity, compliance/procurement, managed extraction, or contract-backed support justify a higher bill.
Overall verdict: Webshare is the default recommendation for cost-sensitive raw proxy users. Oxylabs is the better long-term platform for revenue-critical data programs that may outgrow raw proxy management.

Choose Oxylabs if…
You need granular international targeting, mobile identities, broader protocols, managed scraping/browser products, 24/7 support, formal procurement, or one platform that can absorb more access and parsing work.
Choose Webshare if…
You mainly need raw residential, datacenter or static ISP proxies through a simple dashboard and want to minimize the monthly cost without buying enterprise tooling.
Related companies, separate offersDoes Oxylabs Own Webshare?
Webshare announced that it joined forces with Oxylabs in September 2022. That ownership relationship does not make the services interchangeable. They retain different catalogs, dashboards, pricing, network claims, support positions and target customers. Historical network counts from the acquisition announcement should not be treated as current inventory.
For buyers, the practical distinction is positioning: Webshare emphasizes simple self-service proxy access and aggressive commodity pricing; Oxylabs sells deeper proxy infrastructure plus managed web-data products and enterprise assistance. Evaluate the contract and product you will actually use—not the parent relationship.
Product scopeProxy and Scraping Products Compared
| Product | Oxylabs | Webshare | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rotating residential | Premium global pool with extensive filters | Budget monthly GB packages | Depth vs cost |
| Datacenter | Dedicated, shared per-IP and rotating per-GB | Shared, private and dedicated static tiers | Both broad; billing differs |
| ISP | Shared and dedicated in 25 locations | Standard/shared, private and dedicated static residential | Match sharing before price |
| Mobile | Rotating mobile pool | Not verified | Oxylabs only |
| Web Unblocker | Managed access, returns raw HTML | Not verified | Oxylabs only |
| Web Scraper API | Managed extraction and structured results | Not verified | Oxylabs only |
| Headless Browser | Remote Playwright/Puppeteer/CDP browser | Not verified | Oxylabs only |
Webshare’s simplicity is valuable when a team already owns rotation, retry, rendering, parsing and storage. Oxylabs lets the same team move those responsibilities upward: raw proxies for maximum control, Web Unblocker for managed access with raw HTML, Web Scraper API for extraction, or Headless Browser for scriptable interaction.

Oxylabs residential plans
| Plan | Traffic | Monthly price | Included rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 5GB | $30 | $6/GB |
| Basic | 20GB | $100 | $5/GB |
| Advanced | 125GB | $500 | $4/GB |
| Corporate | 1TB | $2,500 | $2.50/GB |
Top-up limits vary by tier, reaching up to 100GB on smaller plans and up to 2TB on larger plans. VAT may apply. Lower at-scale marketing teasers should not be substituted for the public selector tiers above.
Webshare residential plans
| Traffic | Monthly price | Included rate |
|---|---|---|
| 1GB | $3.50 | $3.50/GB |
| 10GB | $27.50 | $2.75/GB |
| 25GB | $65 | $2.60/GB |
| 50GB | $122.50 | $2.45/GB |
| 100GB | $225 | $2.25/GB |
| 250GB | $500 | $2/GB |
| 500GB | $875 | $1.75/GB |
| 1TB | $1,500 | $1.50/GB |
| 3TB | $4,200 | $1.40/GB |
Webshare’s residential allowance resets monthly and does not roll over. Its displayed discounts are not guaranteed renewal rates. Annual pricing is separate and card labels have shown inconsistencies, so this comparison uses monthly totals only.
Residential unit-price comparison
Closest saved tiers on a common $0–$6/GB scale. Package volumes differ; this is rate context, not an equal-capacity bill.
Residential price winner: Webshare. At 1TB, its saved $1,500 total is $1,000 lower than Oxylabs Corporate. Oxylabs’ premium pays for broader advertised inventory, finer filters, protocol options, account controls and support—not cheaper bytes.
Breadth and precisionResidential Network and Targeting
Oxylabs advertises 175M+ residential IPs; Webshare advertises 80M+. Both state 195-country coverage. The 177M+ Oxylabs headline refers to its broader proxy catalog and should not replace the 175M+ residential figure. Webshare’s older generic 30M banners should likewise not replace its current 80M+ product claim.
Oxylabs supports continent, country, state, city, ZIP, coordinate and ASN targeting. It also lists operating-system selection, IPv4/IPv6 and three proxy users plus 10 allowlisted IPs. Advanced filters may require KYC. Webshare supports country, city and ASN targeting; state and ZIP are documented for the US. Authentication can use a default user, sub-user or authorized IP, with endpoint settings encoded in the username.
Oxylabs wins absolute filter breadth. Webshare covers the most common self-service needs and can be the better value when exact coordinates, global ZIP coverage, OS choice or IPv6 are unnecessary.

Connection behaviorRotation, Sticky Sessions and Protocols
| Feature | Oxylabs residential | Webshare residential |
|---|---|---|
| Rotation | Automatic rotation or sticky identity | Rotating request or sticky session |
| Maximum advertised sticky window | Up to 24 hours | Dashboard timer 1 minute–24 hours |

| SOCKS5 | Supported | Supported |
| HTTP/3 | Advertised | Not verified |
| IPv6 / OS selection | Advertised | Not verified as equivalent |
| Concurrent sessions | Unlimited advertised | Thread capacity is plan/configuration dependent |
A 24-hour sticky setting is not permanent IP ownership: residential peers can disconnect. Protocol support also does not turn a proxy into a consumer VPN or guarantee device-wide encryption. See MDN’s neutral proxy and tunneling guide.
Static and rotating infrastructureDatacenter Proxy Pricing
| Product | Oxylabs entry | Webshare entry | Price observation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free datacenter | 5 IPs advertised after registration | 10 IPs + 1GB/month, no card | Webshare |
| Shared static | 10 IPs/$12 ($1.20/IP) | 100 IPs/$2.99 ($0.0299/IP) | Webshare |
| Dedicated static | 3 IPs/$6.75 ($2.25/IP) | 20 IPs/$26.60 ($1.33/IP) | Webshare rate |
| Rotating/pay by traffic | 20GB/$11.80 ($0.59/GB) | No directly matching saved card | Oxylabs product option |
Webshare shared datacenter scales to 1,000 IPs/$26.91, 5,000/$119.60 and 60,000/$1,076.40. Dedicated totals are 50/$63, 75/$89.25 and 100/$119. Private datacenter starts at 25 IPs/$18.52, but “private” is limited sharing—not dedicated. Webshare documentation varies between one other user and up to one or two, so confirm the exact offer.
Oxylabs advertises 1.9M+ dedicated datacenter IPs in 188 countries; its shared per-IP and rotating pools cover fewer locations. It is the more globally ambitious datacenter product, while Webshare dominates public entry pricing. Neither dedicated label guarantees an unused historical reputation or immunity to blocking.

Static ISP identityISP Proxy Pricing Compared
Shared ISP
| Quantity | Oxylabs shared ISP | Webshare Standard static ISP | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | 10 IPs/$16 | 20 IPs/$6 | Different minimums |
| 100 IPs | $130 | $30 | Webshare $100 lower |
| 500 IPs | $600 | $142.50 | Webshare $457.50 lower |
Both entry comparisons are shared products. Oxylabs says shared ISP addresses can be used by up to three users and come from premium ASN providers in 25 locations. Webshare Standard is shared; its static residential addresses are server-hosted ISP addresses, not household devices.
Dedicated ISP
Oxylabs publishes dedicated ISP at 5 IPs/$16, 100/$270 and 300/$750, with custom pricing from 1,000. Webshare offers dedicated static residential configurations, but current comparable totals were not saved for this article. Do not compare Oxylabs dedicated pricing to Webshare’s $6 shared Standard card.
Carrier identityMobile Proxy Comparison
Oxylabs offers a distinct mobile network advertised at 20M+ IPs across 140+ countries, with 3G/4G/5G/LTE identities, HTTP(S), HTTP/3, SOCKS5, detailed targeting, automatic rotation and static sessions up to 24 hours. Plans are 4GB/$30 ($7.50/GB), 15GB/$100 ($6.67/GB), 100GB/$500 ($5/GB) and 715GB/$2,500 ($3.50/GB).
No current Webshare mobile plan was verified, so Oxylabs wins by availability. Mobile is justified for carrier-specific ad verification, app/localization research and targets whose content changes on cellular networks. It should not be purchased as a generic “more premium” replacement for cheaper residential traffic.
Beyond raw proxiesOxylabs Managed Scraping Tools
This is the largest capability gap. Webshare sells proxy infrastructure; the customer generally owns retries, rendering, anti-block strategy, parsing and storage. Oxylabs offers three additional abstraction layers:
| Oxylabs product | Public entry | Oxylabs manages | Output / caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web Unblocker | Micro 8GB/$75 regular list | Proxy choice, rotation, fingerprints, retries, CAPTCHA and rendering | Raw HTML; upstream and downstream traffic count |
| Web Scraper API | Micro $49/month | Access and extraction for supported workflows | HTML/structured results; cost depends on target/rendering |
| Headless Browser | 50GB/$300 | Remote browser infrastructure, proxies and stealth | Your Playwright/Puppeteer/CDP script controls interaction |
Web Unblocker regular tiers are 8GB/$75, 38GB/$325 and 88GB/$660. It bills successful traffic and does not parse records. Web Scraper API advertises up to 2,000 free-trial results; Micro $49 can provide up to 98K Amazon/no-JS results, but output varies by target and rendering. Headless Browser tiers are 50GB/$300, 100GB/$550 and 300GB/$1,410.
“Unlimited” still has conditionsBandwidth and Fair-Use Policies
Oxylabs per-IP datacenter and ISP products describe bandwidth as unlimited subject to fair use. Its shared ISP example permits up to 100 concurrent sessions per IP until 50GB/IP in the billing cycle, then 10/IP. Dedicated ISP describes an analogous reduction after 100GB/IP. Exact production limits belong in the contract.
Webshare bandwidth applies across the whole plan, not per IP. Capped choices include 250GB, 1,000GB and 5,000GB. Unlimited becomes selectable only at qualifying counts—shared datacenter 1,000, private 100, dedicated 75; shared static ISP 100, private 100, dedicated 50—and is not automatically included at the quoted entry price.
Webshare’s August 2026 Fair Usage Policy provides a minimum 10TB guaranteed threshold for eligible unlimited configurations before possible throttling, with higher thresholds tied to spend. That does not apply to capped or rotating-residential plans. In both services, read “unlimited” as policy-governed rather than infinite unthrottled capacity.
Before committingFree Plans, Trials, Refunds and Support
| Topic | Oxylabs | Webshare |
|---|---|---|
| Free datacenter | 5 IPs advertised after registration | 10 IPs + 1GB/month; no card |
| Managed-tool trials | Web Scraper API up to 2,000 results; Web Unblocker 1GB/up to 10K results; no card advertised | No comparable tools |
| Other trials | Demo, sales or 24/7 chat; browser via sales | Permanent DC free tier; no residential trial |
| Refund | Eligible self-service non-PAYG plans: generally 3 days and below 20% use (10% enterprise), conditions apply | 2 days; strict low-usage/proxy-count limits |
| Support | 24/7 and dedicated manager listed on current cards | Help center and support email documented |
Neither refund is an unconditional guarantee. Oxylabs Dedicated Datacenter Enterprise is final/non-refundable except billing errors reported within 30 days. Webshare requires rotating residential use below 0.1GB, proxy/static use below 1GB and fewer than 1,000 proxies used. Confirm live terms before payment.
Claims are not benchmarksSpeed, Reliability and Success Rate
Oxylabs advertises a 0.6-second residential average response time and 99.95% average success rate, plus product-specific datacenter/mobile figures. These are provider claims, not a controlled advantage over Webshare.
| Pilot metric | What to record | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Usable response rate | Correct content ÷ attempts | Finds soft blocks and empty shells |
| Accepted-record rate | Valid unique records ÷ parsed records | Connects proxies to data quality |
| Latency | p50, p95 and p99 | Averages hide long tails |
| Location fidelity | Correct currency/inventory/language ÷ checks | Validates targeting |
| Session survival | Completed flows ÷ attempts | Tests practical stickiness |
| Total cost | Fees + bytes + retries + labor ÷ accepted records | Normalizes unlike products |

| Coordinate/global ZIP targeting | Oxylabs | Broader documented targeting |
| Managed public-data extraction | Oxylabs | Unblocker, Scraper API and browser |
| Shared ISP on a budget | Webshare | 100 IPs/$30 vs $130 |
| Enterprise procurement/support | Oxylabs | Account managers, 24/7 support and custom scope |
Suggested pilot decision weights
Adjust before testing; business impact should determine the winner.
- 30% Useful-response quality
- 25% Cost per accepted record
- 20% Targeting and session fidelity
- 15% Throughput / latency
- 10% Support and governance
The honest denominatorHow to Compare True Cost
- Choose the lowest sufficient identity.Datacenter first, then ISP, residential or mobile only when the target requires it.
- Match responsibilities.Raw Webshare pricing excludes rendering, retries, parsing and storage; managed Oxylabs tools replace some of that work.
- Define accepted output.Specify fields, freshness, completeness, location and duplicate rules.
- Run a representative pilot.Include easy and protected pages, peak hours, regions and session flows.
- Calculate total cost.Add subscriptions, overage/top-ups, rendering/media, infrastructure and labor, then divide by accepted records.
Webshare will usually win when raw proxies work and engineering is already sunk. Oxylabs can win despite higher list prices when managed access/extraction materially improves valid output or saves enough maintenance time. The unit to optimize is not dollars per gigabyte or IP; it is dollars per usable result.

Final verdictWebshare Wins Price; Oxylabs Wins Platform Depth
Choose Webshare when raw proxies satisfy the workload and cost matters most. Its rotating residential rates are much lower, its shared datacenter and ISP products are exceptionally inexpensive, and the free tier makes integration testing easy. It is the better default for self-service buyers.
Choose Oxylabs when the project needs more than cheap IP transport: global targeting depth, mobile identity, HTTP/3/IPv6 options, managed unblocking and extraction, remote browser automation, account assistance or enterprise contracting. Those capabilities can justify the premium for high-value pipelines.
Our recommendation: begin with Webshare for a cost-controlled raw-proxy pilot. Move to—or start with—Oxylabs when targeting, difficult access, parsing or operational support is the bottleneck. Decide using accepted-record cost, not IP or GB price alone.

Sources & comparison methodology
This article uses September 18, 2026 research, compiled from official Oxylabs and Webshare pricing, product, developer/help, fair-use and refund pages. No paid checkout, contract review or controlled cross-provider performance benchmark was performed. Prices are public USD list figures before possible VAT/tax.
Method: rotating residential, datacenter and ISP products were compared separately. Sharing, minimum quantity and billing unit are disclosed. Managed Oxylabs products are treated as different abstractions, not proxy-price equivalents. Network, uptime, success and response-time figures remain explicitly provider-attributed.
Charts: price charts use displayed package totals and transparent division. The radar and pilot donut are qualitative decision aids, not test results. Confirm live inventory, promotions, terms and contract limits before a material purchase.
